A theater performance for children about mine safety
The Humanitarian Demining Information Center is preparing a project in cooperation with cultural institutions, including puppet theaters, to inform children about mine risk in an understandable, adapted form.
The initiative plans to create a children’s theater performance that will help explain the rules of behavior in the risk zone through the language of fairy tales, images, and an interactive plot. The play will be developed with the participation of demining experts, teachers and child psychologists.
At the next stage, we plan to produce sets of puppets and scripts that will be distributed to regional theaters across the country. This will allow us to reach more communities, including those where children do not have access to systemic mine safety programs.
The goal of the project is to raise awareness among children about mine risk through an accessible and non-violent format that is fun, safe and easy to understand.
