Information campaign on mine safety
On June 17, 2025, the Humanitarian Demining Information Center presented an all-Ukrainian information campaign aimed at raising public awareness of mine risk for public access. The initiative is the result of the team’s systematic work on creating materials and approaches that allow to convey critical information to different audiences in a simple and understandable way.
The campaign is focused on five key target groups:
– children and pupils, as one of the most vulnerable categories
– residents of the frontline areas, where the risk of contact with explosive ordnance is the highest;
– teachers and educators who will disseminate knowledge in educational institutions after completing the training;
– religious communities as an effective channel of communication with the elderly;
– the general public, which is planned to be reached through social advertising, outdoor media, radio and online media.
Campaign goal:
- To inform the public about mine risk through lectures, printed materials and mass communications.
- To educate children, educators, communities and residents of risky areas on the rules of safe behavior.
- Increase the overall level of safety through systematic educational work.
The campaign includes:
- interactive classes in schools and communities;
- comics, leaflets and infographics;
- photo exhibitions in public spaces;
- use of AR technologies;
- social advertising in cities and towns.
This project is an open tool for wide use in communities, schools, media, and the public sector. It can be adapted to meet regional needs and the demands of local initiatives.
