We signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Center for Humanitarian Demining
On May 7, 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Kyiv between the Center for Humanitarian Demining and the Humanitarian Demining Information Center (HDIC).
The document confirms the parties’ intention to join forces to strengthen information, analytical, and methodological support for mine action activities.
The main goal is to raise public awareness of mine risks, develop joint initiatives, and deepen cooperation between government agencies and civil society.
The cooperation includes:
- creating and distributing informational materials,
- conducting educational campaigns,
- organizing events for the public,
- involving the expert community in risk analysis and planning of humanitarian demining activities.
“We are not waiting for the end of the war to start informing people. Demining is already a reality today, and our goal is to give people knowledge that can save lives,” emphasized Volodymyr Baida, director of the Centre for Humanitarian Demining.
In turn, the director of the NGO “HDIC,” Denis Perepelytsyn, noted:
“The signing of the memorandum is a logical step towards establishing a stable partnership between the state and the civil sector in an area that requires consistency and trust. Information should not be a reaction, but a tool for prevention.”
The memorandum is open-ended. Its implementation includes regular consultations, knowledge sharing, joint participation in state and public initiatives, the creation of working groups, and the development of strategic approaches to risk communication.
